You are floating down the Mississippi when the band strikes up a tune and everyone is dancing, clapping and singing along. This is the experience of Roosevelt time; Jug-band blues, classic New Orleans soul and neo-folk with a nontraditional lineup of banjo, electric and gut-bucket basses, percussion, clarinet, saxophone, and the occasional electric guitar — called “a perpetual crowd-pleaser” by the New York Times. Do not miss.
If ever there was a folk-pop-harmony-driven-cute-to-boot cake, Hannah & Maggie would just about take it. . Although they've been favorably compared to Simon & Garfunkel and The Indigo Girls, these ladies have an undeniable originality and a sound all their own. Their efforts to blend the folk music they were raised on with a modern-day melodic energy prove successful time and again. Hannah & Maggie show no signs of stopping (unless there are ducks crossing the street).
